About RG Enterprise Consulting LLC
RG Enterprise Consulting (RGE) is a boutique management consulting firm specializing in post-merger integration (PMI), AI readiness, digital transformation, business transformation, and PMO consulting for Fortune 500 M&A teams, PE-backed mid-market companies, and consulting firms seeking specialist delivery partners. Founded by a 15+ year veteran of Fortune 500 program leadership with deep multilingual Latin America delivery experience, RGE is built to bring Fortune 500-grade integration discipline to clients who cannot justify Big Four pricing. RGE is currently scaling from a solo consulting practice into a full boutique firm with a bench of on-demand specialist consultants, and this role is a foundational hire in that growth plan.
Position Summary
RGE is seeking a proactive, network-driven Business Development Partner to build and run the firm's outbound origination engine. This is not a lead-qualification or inbound-response role — it is an active hunting role. You will identify private equity firms and corporate development teams in the middle of (or about to begin) an acquisition, reach them before they have already staffed their integration plan, and turn that outreach into qualified discovery calls for the firm's Founder. You will also activate and grow RGE's existing referral network of consulting and advisory partners. This role is ideal for someone who already understands the M&A and private equity ecosystem — whether from investment banking, M&A advisory, corporate development, or business development inside a professional services firm — and who wants the autonomy and upside of building a growth function inside a firm at seed stage, without doing the client delivery work themselves.
Key Responsibilities
● Named-Account Targeting & Research: Build and maintain a living target list of 200-300 U.S. mid-market private equity firms and corporate development teams that fit RGE's buyer profile (PE-backed mid-market acquirers; Fortune 500 M&A/corporate development teams; PE-backed companies in professional services, technology, and healthcare). Maintain this list with firm name, relevant partners/principals, portfolio focus, and past deal activity.
● Deal-Trigger Monitoring: Track newly announced acquisitions and add-on deals in RGE's target segments — through PitchBook/Crunchbase alerts, SEC EDGAR 8-K filings, PE Hub, Mergers & Acquisitions Magazine, and LinkedIn deal announcements — and treat each announcement as a live opportunity. Integration staffing decisions get made in the days immediately after signing, so speed from announcement to outreach is the core skill this role is measured on.
● Outbound Multi-Channel Outreach: Run structured outbound campaigns across LinkedIn (Sales Navigator), email, and direct outreach to VP Integration, CIO, CFO, COO, and Corporate Development titles at target accounts. Write and test outreach sequences; personalize based on the specific deal or portfolio context, not generic templates.
● Referral Network Activation: Own and actively grow relationships with RGE's existing co-delivery and referral partners (including The Barton Partnership, UST Global, and Smart Techlink Solutions) and build new relationships with complementary CFO/finance-layer advisory firms that regularly encounter clients needing RGE's operational PMI and technology integration capability.
● Qualification & Handoff: Apply RGE's lead scoring framework (budget signal, timeline, company size, title seniority) to prioritize prospects, and hand off only qualified, well-briefed opportunities — so the Founder enters every discovery call already knowing the company, the deal context, and the likely need.
● Pipeline Discipline & Reporting: Log every account researched, touch made, and conversation held in RGE's admin platform (Lead Management module). Deliver a weekly pipeline report covering accounts researched, outreach sent, response rates, and meetings booked, tracked through RGE's pipeline stages (New → Contacted → Qualified → Proposal Sent → Won/Lost).
Qualifications and Requirements
● 3+ years of business development, sales, or origination experience within M&A advisory, private equity services, investment banking, corporate development, or B2B professional services (consulting, audit, legal). Direct prior exposure to PE deal flow or M&A processes is strongly preferred over general B2B sales background.
● Demonstrated comfort with true cold outbound — this is a hunting role, not an inbound response or order-taking role. You should already have a system for prospecting, sequencing, and following up without daily oversight.
● Existing network or working familiarity with the U.S. middle-market private equity ecosystem — fund contacts, corporate development contacts, or the M&A advisory community — is a significant advantage and will be weighted heavily in candidate review.
● Strong written communication skills, with the ability to write outreach that reads as credible and specific to a VP Integration, CFO, or COO audience — not generic sales copy.
● Self-directed working style. This is a part-time, largely autonomous engagement; the right candidate manages their own weekly cadence and is comfortable being measured on pipeline outcomes rather than hours logged.
● Working familiarity with (or willingness to quickly learn) RGE's service lines — Post-Merger Integration, AI Readiness, Digital Transformation, Business Transformation, and PMO Consulting — sufficient to speak credibly about them in a first conversation. You are not expected to deliver the work, only to sell the meeting.
Preferred Skills
● Prior experience selling into PE-backed portfolio companies or corporate development offices specifically.
● Existing relationships with partners or principals at U.S. middle-market PE funds, M&A advisory boutiques, or corporate development teams.
● Working knowledge of PMI and M&A terminology — IMO, Day-1/Day-100 planning, synergy realization, carve-outs and TSAs — to establish credibility quickly with a technical buyer.
● Experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, a CRM or pipeline tool, and deal-intelligence platforms (PitchBook, Crunchbase, or similar).
What We Offer
● A ground-floor role building the growth engine of a boutique consulting firm, working in direct partnership with the Founder rather than inside a large BD team.
● Commission structure with uncapped upside tied directly to engagements you source and that convert to signed client work.
● Flexible, fractional schedule — built for someone balancing this alongside other client or advisory work.
● A defined path to a larger, more senior Business Development or Partner-track role as RGE scales from solo practice to a boutique firm with a full consulting bench.
